Meet Our 2026 CEF Scholars
This June, the Chris Eaton Foundation awarded $30,000 to four graduating student-athletes — our third scholarship class, and our biggest yet. Each of them told us something true about mental and emotional health, showed us how they lead the people around them, and earned a title they'll carry for life: CEF Scholar.
Alex Starr — Bosque School. A 4.0 student and captain of both the basketball and mountain-biking teams (plus volleyball and golf), Alex speaks English, Spanish, and Polish — and is headed to Tufts University to study international relations.
Sophia Lopez — Rio Grande High School. A four-year basketball captain, district player of the year, and her team's leading scorer and rebounder, Sophia carried a 4.0 while also playing volleyball and tennis. She'll study psychology at Ottawa University Arizona.
Chloe Brown — Sandia High School. From a basketball coaching family at Chris's own school, Chloe won back-to-back state championships on the court, competed in track and soccer, and posted a 4.3 GPA. She's off to McPherson College to study chemistry and biology on the road to a career in anesthesiology.
Anna Hastings — Albuquerque Academy. Captain of both cross country and track and a state champion in the 3200m, 1600m, and 800m, Anna will run at Brown University. Her words stuck with us: "Being able to share those experiences with my teammates made even the difficult parts worth it."
These four join our 2024 and 2025 classes. Nine CEF Scholars and $60,000 awarded since our first scholarship. Every one of them was chosen the same way: not just for what they've done in competition or in the classroom, but for how they take care of themselves and show up for the people around them. Healthier coaches. Healthier athletes. Healthier communities.
